Keith Brown, Policy Advisor, Heart Foundation Tasmania

National Heart Foundation of Australia

Through his work as a Built Environment Policy Advisor with the National Heart Foundation of Australia, Keith advocates for the creation of healthy places with initiatives including Healthy Active by Design, a program that outlines the evidence and connections between heart health and the built environment.

A built environment practitioner with over fifteen years’ experience and qualifications in Urban Design, Planning and Architecture, Keith previously worked in urban design and planning consultancy in the UK with David Lock Associates, projects including Active Design a national initiative promoting the design of healthy places in England led by Sport England and supported by Public Health England.

Based in the Heart Foundation Tasmania office Keith works on state and national projects. As Chair of the Tasmanian Active Living Coalition, Keith is working with partner organisations seeking to enhance active living in Tasmania, building upon the Active Living in Tasmania forum (2018), an event coordinated in partnership with the Department of Health, Heart Foundation, University of Tasmania (UTAS) and Local Government Association Tasmania (LGAT).
